Resins are complex mixtures of natural constituents containing non-volatile and volatile terpenes, in combination with gums polyphenols, used since ancient times for their medicinal properties. Current research has evidenced therapeutic value a plethora activities. The main limits resins clinical use low water solubility, poor stability bioavailability. Therefore, nanovectors including vesicles, solid lipid nanoparticles, micelles, nanoemulsions, microemulsions mesoporic nanoparticles have been investigated to optimize the biopharmaceutical properties after topical or oral administration fractions from them, essential oils single constituents. In this review, we report results evidencing that developed were able entrap high amounts components, modify release properties, enhance cellular uptake penetration across biological barriers addition, as enhancer molecules can architecture capacity circumvent barriers. Although no studies reported until now, represent huge platform upgrading therapies emerging new treatments such wound healing therapy.
