Morus alba L. (Moraceae), white mulberry, is an ancient, well-known source of several compounds with potent biological activities and beneficial effects on human health. In this study, the juices three stabilised undifferentiated cell lines, calli maintained in light dark conditions, suspensions condition M. were investigated for their phytochemical content activity. The results highlighted main presence oxyresveratrol resveratrol-backbone glucosides, together benzofuran derivatives. Oxyresveratrol triglucoside was found first time vitro cultures, where it represents compound, accounting almost 90 µg/mL all juices. total stilbenoid resulted significantly higher during logarithmic phase growth cycle, suspension juice exhibited statistically highest (313.21 juice). Only showed ROS reduction Caco-2 cells, whereas reduced IL-1β TNF-α levels cells stimulated LPS. These lay groundwork future exploitation dedifferentiated cultures as sustainable resources to be used nutraceutical, cosmetic, pharmaceutical industries.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have the potential to differentiate into various cell types, providing important sources of for development regenerative medicine. Although MSCs advantages, there are also problems, such as low survival rate transplanted and poor migration homing; therefore, determining how reform improve their utilization is particularly important. many natural bioactive compounds shown great improving MSCs, mechanisms pathways involved; however, in final analysis, promoted MSC proliferation, homing differentiation antiaging. This article reviews regulatory effects on provide new ideas therapeutic modified diseases.

The plethora of bio-functional compounds present in fermented alcoholic beverages like wine, as well the valorisation bioactives from wineries’/breweries’ by-products grape pomace and seed, has gained significant interest functional foods sector. This beverage, always accompanied humanity, for religion or health, especially Mediterranean, while benefits its moderate consumption were documented even by Greek physician Hippocrates Kos (460–370 BC). After a big gap, an outbreak research on wine surfaced only since 1990s, when term “French paradox” was introduced to US public during CBS show, recent evidence outlined that beneficial effects are derived synergisms their digestion-derived metabolites. Within this article, proposed health consumption, component balanced diet (i.e., Mediterranean diet) against inflammation-related chronic disorders, is thoroughly reviewed. various both wineries’ by-products, such bioactive phenolics, unsaturated fatty acids, polar lipids dietary fibres, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory antithrombotic health-promoting properties, also evaluated. mechanisms action synergism, which elicited, explored. Functional properties non-alcoholic products introduced. Emphasis given applications bioactives, ingredients foods, supplements nutraceuticals. Limitations future perspectives popular beverage (wine) rich addressed.

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)-induced viral pneumonia in children is common worldwide. Its high occurrence and lack of an effective vaccine make it a leading cause death children. Severe RSV infection can trigger uncontrolled inflammatory responses patients, so the development small molecule drugs with dual function "direct antivirus" "inflammatory response regulation" welcome. Resveratrol (Res) has been reported to have antiviral anti-inflammatory pharmacological effects, but its application limited because poor water solubility oral bioavailability. Based on small-molecule nanotechnology, we developed sonication-assisted self-assembly method for preparing insoluble Res into highly soluble resveratrol nanoparticles (Res NPs). The obtained NPs exhibited higher faster dissolution rate, which was more conducive effectiveness addressing RSV-induced pneumonia. In vitro studies had shown that played role by inhibiting replication reducing production pro-inflammatory cytokines. Nebulized inhalation administration prolonged drug's residence time lungs, appears increase accumulation NPs. Additionally, vivo demonstrated significant benefits load improving pulmonary microenvironment RSV-infected mice. Both experiments confirmed activity superior Res. This suggested nanosizing way enhance original also offered new formulation strategy treating
