The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is home to diverse indigenous medicinal plants traditionally used for centuries. This study systematically evaluates the pharmacological and nutritional potential of key plants, including Lawsonia inermis, Nigella sativa, Ziziphus spina-christi, Allium cepa, sativum, Cymbopogon schoenanthus, Matricaria aurea, Phoenix dactylifera, Portulaca oleracea, Reichardia tingitana, Salvadora persica, Solanum lycopersicum, Trigonella foenum-graecum, Withania somnifera, lotus. Comprehensive literature searches were conducted using PubMed, Scopus, Web Science identify studies relevant their uses. findings highlight therapeutic roles these in managing global health challenges such as gastrointestinal diseases, antimicrobial resistance through bioactive compounds like flavonoids, polyphenols, antioxidants. Additionally, contributions nutrition, essential vitamins minerals, are emphasized disease prevention promotion. While this research focuses on UAE, implications globally relevant, many also found traditional medicine across Asia, Africa, Europe. Integrating into healthcare systems offers solutions pressing public concerns, reduces reliance synthetic pharmaceuticals, promotes sustainable practices. work a valuable reference researchers, professionals, policymakers, bridging knowledge modern scientific applications globally.

Breast cancer is a disease characterized by the uncontrolled proliferation of malignant cells in breast tissue, and oxidative stress activated an accumulation reactive oxygen species (ROS) associated with its development progression. Essential oils from medicinal plants, known for their antioxidant therapeutic properties, are being explored as alternatives. Ptychotis verticillata, also Nûnkha, plant native to Morocco, belonging Apiaceae family, used generations traditional medicine. This study focuses on phytochemical characterization P. verticillata essential oil (PVEO) province Oujda, properties. The was obtained hydro-distillation, volatile components were analyzed gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). results revealed presence various aromatic terpene compounds, carvacrol most abundant compound. PVEO showed properties several tests, including β-carotene bleaching, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging total capacity (TAC). It demonstrated cytotoxicity against MCF-7 MDA-MB-231 cell lines, higher selectivity MDA-MB-231. reveal that could be promising natural alternative treatment cancer.

Seeking healthcare strategies with fewer side effects, such herbal remedies, preferable in terms of mitigating the negative consequences synthetic medications. Ziziphus lotus (L.) (Rhamnaceae) or wild jujube, commonly “Sedra,” one best choices it contains a variety phytochemicals biologically active compounds. Several flavonoids stilbenes have been recognized primary bioactive components including rutin, hyperin, isoquercitrin, resveratrol. These polyphenols are pharmacologically broad‐spectrum beneficial effects for reducing risk factors associated syndrome. They exhibit antioxidant anti‐inflammatory properties, regulate lipid metabolism, possess antiobesity, antihypertensive, antidiabetic characteristics. The current study aimed to evaluate the phytochemical composition, quality control, and antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, antihyperglycemic activities, toxicity assessment of Crataegus monogyna Jacq (C. monogyna) laciniata Ucria laciniata) fruits aqueous extracts. control plant material revealed that it is free heavy metals acidity ash parameters comply with international standards. HPLC-DAD analysis presence eight phenolic compounds in C. extract nine extract, coumaric acid present only extract. According findings, both extracts are high total polyphenols, flavonoids, condensed tannins. results antioxidant activity our have significant effects against 2, 2-diphényl 1-picrylhydrazyle (DPPH), Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP). antibacterial test two tested were effective four bacterial strains, including Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Enterobacter cloacae, Shigella dysenteria, but ineffective Salmonella typhi, Acinetobacter baumanii. In addition, from plants showed remarkable no acute toxicity. conclusion, studied could be a good source bioactive molecules antimicrobial, anti-diabetic for pharmaceutical applications.
