Abstract Background: Nitrofurantoin is a BCS II drug with low solubility and dissolution rate. Therefore, the pharmaceutical applications of nitrofurantoin are limited. The purpose current study was to enhance solubility, dissolution, bioavailability by formulating solid dispersion (SD). Methods: SD developed using 3 2 factorial designs considering poloxamer 188 trituration time as independent variables, release dependent variables. characterized for FTIR, DSC, XRD, in vitro pharmacokinetic studies rats. Results: Nitrofurantoin:poloxamer at 1:1 ratio had higher than nitrofurantoin. directly related amount time. In addition, concentration DR 45 (%), while rate stirring inversely (%). An FTIR revealed excellent excipient compatibility. crystallinity decreased, which indicated more amorphous nature XRD DSC studies. Compared pure dispersion, optimized formulation exhibited 3.88-fold improvement nitrofurantoin, whereas compared marketed formulation, 1.77-fold enhancement noted. Conclusion: This that could be potential carrier system

ABSTRACT Background Urinary and bowel incontinence are more common in adults with intellectual disability (ID), compared to the general population. Little is known about their experiences toileting issues. The aim was learn Method Incontinence issues assessment conducted a community‐based sample of 22 ID urinary incontinence, or without incontinence. Assessment included IPSS , ICIQ‐UI POTI checklists; bladder scans; urine screening for presence tract infection. Results majority (19 adults, 86%) developed during adulthood. Seven (32%) also experienced constipation most commonly reported health condition (13 59%), other than Fifty per cent (11 adults) had been treated infection within previous 12 months. Conclusion There an urgent need develop accessible reliable materials supporters. These assessments should pay close attention conditions that can cause this group factors associated which by ID. potentially modifiable.
