Background/Objectives: Plants species of the Epilobium genus are traditionally used to treat prostatitis and other urinary tract disorders particularly rich in ellagitannins flavonol 3-O-glycosides. The aim this work was evaluate inhibitory activity different extracts from E. angustifolium L. parviflorum Schreb. their major bioactive compound, oenothein B, against a panel Gram-positive (Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212, Enterococcus BS, Staphylococcus aureus 25923, 29213, 43300) Gram-negative (Escherichia coli 25922, Escherichia 35218, Klebsiella pneumoniae 13883, 70063, Proteus mirabilis Pseudomonas aeruginosa 27853) bacteria responsible for prostatitis. Methods: Aqueous ethanolic raw were prepared, latter further purified using resin AmberliteTM XAD7HP. Then, an HPLC-MS/MS method developed quantification marker bioactives levels correlated with antimicrobial activity. Results: Purified richer polyphenols (330.80 367.66 mg/g dry extract parvifolium, respectively) than extracts. Oenothein B predominant compound all (119.98 327.57 extract). minimum concentrations (MICs) range µg/mL indicated significant antibacterial activity, which higher (MIC values 4 16 8 1024 on strains, respectively). Conclusions: These results outline outstanding potential as therapeutic alternatives or complementary agents conventional antibiotic treatments infections.

Background/Objectives: Water and alcohol extracts of Epilobium have gained attention due to their high concentration bioactive compounds associated health benefits. This review aimed evaluate the effects parviflorum Schreb. (Onagraceae) preparations on vascular in light its medical applications different human diseases over last five years. Materials Methods: A literature search was undertaken databases such as PubMed/Medline, Scopus, Google Scholar for original articles published between March 2000 2025. The keywords used were “aortic rings”, “ellagitannins”, “Epilobium”, “hydrolyzable tannins”, “hypotension”, “oenothein B”, “Onagraceae”, “systolic blood pressure”, “vasorelaxation”, “willow herb”. Results: E. herb has been a remedy folk medicine variety therapeutic properties. These include preventive ability relieve symptoms patients with benign prostate hyperplasia, prostatitis, cancers. Other properties kidney urinary tract diseases, lipid regulation, skin infections. also antibacterial contains oenothein B, quercetin-3-O-glucuronide, myricetin-3-O-rhamnoside. At low doses, these contribute reduction oxidative stress antioxidant immunostimulatory effects, positively reducing inflammation, which can cause certain conditions. higher concentrations, generates reactive oxygen species that stimulate body’s defense mechanisms against presence B may influence production storage nitric oxide, which, turn, promotes vasodilation regulates pressure. Conclusions: Although potential application metabolic disorders not extensively studied before, anti-inflammatory are well documented suggest pathways future research development benefit health.

Introductioin. For the use of plant extracts in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food industries it is important to study their biological activity towards cells bacterial structures, as well antioxidant properties. Aim – a comprehensive evaluation properties leaves Ivan-tea narrow-leaved (Chamaeneríon angustifolium (L.) Scop.) based on deep eutectic solvents (DESs), compositions [ChCl][Gly]2[H2O]11, [ChCl][Cit]2[H2O]43 [Cit][Gly]4[H2O]20, comparison with pure solvents. Material Methods. The ability obtained inhibit ABTS DPPH free radicals was determined. antimicrobial extractants against cultures Bacillus pumilus, Microbacterium paraoxydants Acinetobacter lwoffii cytotoxicity DES HeLa cervical carcinoma cell line HEK293 human embryonic kidney were determined using MTT assay. Results. It shown that [ChCl][Gly]2[H2O]11 extract inhibited more strongly than ABTS, while contrary [Cit][Gly]4[H2O]20 radical intensely. also found all C. at high concentrations (10, 1 vol.%) had pronounced strains used. be most toxic cultures. cytotoxic effect less for healthy cancer [ChCl][Gly]2[H2O]11. Son yıllarda antibiyotiklere karşı dirençli patojenlerin yayılması ve artan endişe göz önüne alındığında, sentetiklere alternatif olarak doğal bitki kökenli bileşikleri araştırmak ilgi odağı olmuştur. Bu çalışmada, Hakkari/Yüksekova İlçesi Gever ovasında yetişen Epilobium hirsutum L. türünün toprak üstü kısımlarının etanol, metanol su özütlerinin antibakteriyel antifungal özelliklerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. E. hirsutum'un ekstraktlarının (etanol, su) antimikrobiyal aktiviteleri in vitro altı mikroorganizmaya (Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633, Escherichia coli 25922, Enterococcus faecalis 29242 Staphylococcus aureus 25923 bakterileri ile Candida albicans 10231 Saccharomyces cerevisiae 9763) test edilmiştir. Çalışmada, bitkiye ait faecalis’e sırasıyla 13.10 mm 12.26 inhibisyon zonu oluşturduğu belirlenmiştir. Etanol özütünün C. S. 8-11 aralığında tespit Genel hirsutum'a özütlerin Amikacin, Streptomycin Nistatin standartlarına göre orta düzeyde etki gösterdiği saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, ilaç, gıda diğer endüstriyel uygulamalar için kullanılabilir bir etkiye sahip olduğu ifade edilebilir.
