Abstract Biosurfactants are gaining attention due to their biobased nature, including reduced toxicity and enhanced biocompatibility. This research work investigates the characteristics of biosurfactant extracted from halophilic strain Pa84 Pseudomonas aeruginosa optimizes its production using a statistical model. The identity P. as rhamnolipid was determined by comparing genomic sequences with high‐yielding strains that produce rhamnolipid, through Fourier transform infrared liquid chromatography‐mass spectrometer analyses, presence rhlA , rhlB rhlC genes in genome responsible for rhamnolipid. A methodical strategy time‐course assessment software optimized rhamnolipids. After optimization central composite design‐response surface methodology, medium composition 3.34 g/L NH 4 Cl, 1.03 NaCl, glycerol were chosen, yielding 7.48 ± 0.0217 biosurfactant. These findings will help development effective sustainable bioprocess biosurfactants, use variety sectors.

Corn steep liquor (CSL) is a rich source of bioactive compounds, particularly biosurfactants. In this work, two biosurfactant extracts were produced successfully at pilot scale using CSL. One was more hydrophobic and obtained through liquid-liquid extraction with ethyl acetate (BS-ACT). The other hydrophilic, solid-liquid phosphate buffer saline (PBS) (BS-PBS). (BS-ACT BS-PBS) included in biocide formulations to assess their impact on enhancing the suspensibility solubility different metallic active substances. BS-PBS extract exhibited superior properties suspending biocides comparison BS-ACT, despite BS-ACT demonstrating higher capacity. Moreover, chemical surfactants, displayed significantly greater ability solubilize water, whereas showed results that comparable synthetic surfactants. Biosurfactant derived from CSL act as coadjutants formulations, dissolution or suspension water providing sustainable alternative © 2025 Society Chemical Industry.

There is a growing global interest in developing greener and safer pharmaceutical formulations that minimize environmental impact. In this study, we present biotechnological nanoformulation combining prodigiosin (PG), water-insoluble, microbially derived red pigment with multifunctional bioactivity surfactin (SF), lipopeptide biosurfactant known for its diverse surface-active properties. PG was produced by Serratia marcescens, spectrally characterized, subsequently incorporated into preformed SF nanomicelles (nSF) via thermal sonication at 50 °C, yielding PG-loaded (nPG/SF). Physicochemical characterization of nPG/SF revealed spherical nanostructures an average diameter 227 ± 18.95 nm, moderate polydispersity index (PDI) 0.59 0.17, negative surface charge (-27.1 0.97 mV), high entrapment efficiency (98%), physical stability 4 °C least 14 days. terms bioactivity, nanomicellization appeared to enhance the antibacterial effect against Staphylococcus aureus clinical isolate Pseudomonas aeruginosa, while significantly (p < 0.05) improving SF's cytotoxic activity two breast cancer cell lines, MCF-7 MDA-MB-231. Furthermore, using nSF as carrier slightly increased PG’s anticancer activity, suggesting potential dose reduction both SF. Overall, study provides proof concept eco-friendly, biosurfactant-based nanomicellar formulation improved solubility, stability, supporting applications. Further investigations are warranted validate extend these findings.
