The discovery of a multi-target scaffold in medicinal chemistry is an important goal for the development new drugs with different biological effects. Azobenzene one frameworks used its simple synthetic methods and possibility to obtain great variety derivatives by chemical modifications or substitutions. Phenyldiazenyl-containing compounds show wide spectrum pharmacological activities, such as antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-neurodegenerative, anti-cancer, anti-enzymatic. aim this review highlight importance azobenzene chemistry, particular attention structure–activity relationships (SARs). This emphasizes main therapeutic applications phenyldiazenyl derivatives, focus on structural modification influence activity, inspiring chemists new, increasingly powerful azobenzenes useful therapy.
