Abstract This paper first analyzes the complexity of pathological processes involved in acute hemorrhagic or ischemic stroke, including primary and secondary brain injury manifestations mechanisms, potential transformations between hemorrhage infarction, impact postbrain inflammation on disease progression. Based decades extensive clinical pharmacological research usage Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) monomers formulas that promote blood circulation remove stasis (such as Angong Niuhuang Wan, Buyang Huanwu Tang, Dahuoluo Dushen Tang) for stroke treatment, it proposes tonifying qi, promoting circulation, removing stasis, detoxifying are rational treatment principles CHM. These correspond to following Western medical implications: qi corresponds neuroprotection effects, anticoagulation thrombolysis, addresses hematoma absorption cerebral edema reduction, anti-inflammatory actions. further from a systems perspective is complex requiring individualized CHM with timely modifications rather than one-size-fits-all approach. which have various effects such lowering pressure, hemostasis, anticoagulation, antiplatelet, anti-inflammatory, fibrinolysis, must align progression be applied within appropriate therapeutic time windows ensure efficacy safety. Finally, this suggests combined use acupuncture can potentially synergistically leverage their respective strengths. Additionally, shows clear benefits phase intracerebral (ICH), stimulating vagus nerve enhance flow, reducing inflammation, well triggering hemostatic effects. By applying these an integrated approach, better outcomes higher management may attained.
