As naturally derived polysaccharide, Chitosan has become one the most promising materials in polymer-based drug delivery systems because its outstanding biocompatibility, biodegradability, and pH-responsive release. This review explores expanding roles chemical modifications colon therapy, emphasizing relationship between macromolecular interactions structure-property dynamics. Recent progress Chitosan-based nanocarriers, including nanoparticles, nanogels hybrid systems, highlights their potential to overcome multidrug resistance minimize off-target toxicity.
