Abstract One of the main factors in pathophysiology amyotrophic lateral sclerosis is oxidative stress. Mangiferin (MF), a natural plant polyphenol, has anti‐inflammatory and antioxidant effects. The aim our study was to investigate protective effects mechanisms MF hSOD1‐G93A ALS cell model. Our result revealed that treatment reduced generation reactive oxygen species (ROS) malondialdehyde (MDA), decreased damage, apoptosis. Additionally, it observed significantly increased synthesis genes hemeoxygenase‐1 NAD(P)H: quinone oxidoreductase 1, which are downstream Nrf2 signaling pathway, expression activation nuclear factor erythroid 2‐related 2 (Nrf2). knockdown greatly promoted apoptosis, reversed by treatment. To summarize, pathway scavenged MDA ROS protect

Formaldehyde (FA) is a highly reactive molecule that considered as community concern due to the huge human exposure in industries, dissection unit hospitals and academics. Furthermore, it used manufacturing paper plywood, preservation of biological specimens. FA present normally certain concentration brain its metabolism plays major role methylation demethylation DNA, RNA histones. However, excess reduces cognitive function causes dementia especially aging brain. Recent studies investigated link between age-related impairment through NMDA-receptor dysregulation other mechanisms including amyloid-β (Aβ) accumulation, alterations alcohol dehydrogenase-5 (ALDH5) Tau dysmetabolism aggregation which serves Alzheimer's disease (AD). hypothesis agreed when Aβ accumulate extracellular space, prevents medications are dissolved interstitial fluid from permeating injured cortical neurons leads death. Although treatment AD with phototherapy has been achieved before involves destruction deposit; however, reducing amount derivatives remains golden step prevention.
