Iron-gall inks (IGIs) are some of the most used writing materials in ancient times. Several efforts have been devoted to identification and characterization this type ink manuscripts, with a particular focus on their degradation patterns. However, due complexity, in-depth IGIs poses challenges related variability. Within research, main elements variability associated chemical structure systematically investigated. The study involved preparation iron complexes gallic acid, tannic polyphenols contained oak-gall aqueous extracts, pH-controlled regimes, different iron-to-ligand ratios. so-prepared then characterized via Raman, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), infrared (IR) spectroscopies. results obtained support hypothesis strong dependence pH condition prior addition. At same time, it has possible prove efficiency Raman spectroscopy historical explore potential IR EPR such studies.

The synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using environmentally friendly methods has become increasingly important due to its sustainability and cost-effectiveness. This study investigates the green AgNPs gall extracts from plant Ficus recemosa, known for high phytochemical content. formation was verified through multiple analytical techniques, including UV-Vis spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) transmission electron microscopy (TEM), zeta potential analysis, dynamic light scattering (DLS). spectroscopy results displayed a distinct surface plasmon resonance peak indicative AgNP formation. FTIR analysis revealed specific interactions between ions phytochemicals in extract, while TEM images confirmed nanoscale morphology size synthesized particles. Zeta DLS analyses provided insights into stability distribution AgNPs, demonstrating good colloidal stability. Biological properties were assessed various assays. Antimicrobial activity tested disc diffusion method against Escherichia coli Staphylococcus aureus, showing significant inhibitory effects. anticancer evaluated trypan blue exclusion assay on Dalton’s Lymphoma Ascites (DLA) cells, revealing considerable cytotoxicity. Additionally, antimitotic studied dividing root cells Allium cepa, where significantly inhibited cell division. research highlights effective use F. recemosa presenting an eco-friendly approach producing with strong antimicrobial, anticancer, properties. promising suggest applications these biogenic medical agricultural sectors, paving way further exploration utilization.

Many naturally occurring chemical metabolites with significant cytotoxic activities have been isolated from medicinal plants and become the leading hotspot of anti-cancer research in recent years. Hyptis rhomboidea Mart. et Gal is used as a folk medicine South China to treat or assist treatment liver disease, ulcers, edema. But its constituents not fully investigated yet. This study aimed assess cytotoxicity H. rhomboidea, which was chemically characterized by chromatography–mass spectrometry methods. The results showed that 95% ethanol extract has marked inhibitory effects on five human cancer cell lines (HL-60, A549, SMMC-7721, MDA-MB-231, SW480), IC50 values ranging 15.8 40.0 μg/mL. A total 64 compounds were identified ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight mass (UPLC-QTOF-MS) gas chromatograph–mass spectroscopy (GC-MS) analysis crude extract. Among them, kaempferol, quercetin, rosmarinic acid, squalene, campesterol found be abundant might major involved bioactivity. characterization metabolite profiling displayed this provides scientific evidence support use properties.

Heavy metals are persistent contaminants in wastewater due to their nonbiodegradable nature and ability accumulate ecosystems. Biosorption technologies, which utilize biological materials such as microorganisms, plant parts, natural polymers, have emerged effective methods for removing heavy from aqueous solutions. This study evaluates the biosorption potential of various biomaterials originating Serbia-specifically sawdust, wool, oak galls-for removal Cu²⁺ Co²⁺ ions water. The examined exhibit remediation ions, with galls demonstrating highest capacity among tested materials.
