The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect surface polishing as well post-curing atmospheres (air and nitrogen gas) on physical properties an occlusal splint material for additive manufacturing. Flexural strength, flexural modulus, Vickers hardness number (VHN), degree carbon double bond conversion (DC), water sorption (WSP), solubility (WSL) were evaluated. Surface significantly affected evaluated properties. Regardless atmosphere, VHN, DC showed higher values polished specimens when compared with unpolished ones, while WSP WSL lower specimens. Unpolished post-cured at gas VHN values. However, a atmosphere non-significant in current results suggested that plays role can enhance all regardless atmosphere. Meanwhile, but its is confined only layers, which be removed during polishing.

Stainless Steel 316L (SS316L) is widely used in orthopaedics due to its biocompatibility, affordability, ease of fabrication, adequate mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. Despite many benefits, the stiffness SS316L has been a significant cause for concern since it causes stress shielding implant failure. A potential solution orthopaedic implants lattice SS316L, which can be fabricated using laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process. The development structures LPBF process allows scaffolds adhere, grow differentiate bone cells with specific properties suitable implants. study highlights different employed implants, mainly focusing on gyroid delves into fabrication structures. Compared traditional solid TPMS showed at least 30%–70% improvement weight reduction, reduced by 80%, material saving 10%–20% biocompatibility 50%–200% osseointegration. other porous metallic there was 10%–15% compressive tensile strengths. concerning strength-to-weight ratio 40% economically viable. review also influence various parameters biological attributes structures, emphasizing benefits their impact Orthopaedics sector. Furthermore, leveraging unique lattices, offers promising an affordable compatible alternative titanium orthopaedics.

The evidence on the effect of printing orientation dimensional accuracy and properties resinous dental models is unclear. This systematic review aimed to assess impact additively manufactured models, besides cost, material consumption, time efficiency at different orientations. A comprehensive web search (PubMed, Scopus, Cochrane) was performed in July 2024 without language restrictions. included studies were assessed using modified consort statement for laboratory materials. outcomes surface quality, cost printed directions. Following PRISMA guidelines, 14 records included. Most favored horizontally with minor controversies regarding accuracy, time, efficiency. While can influence it often more significantly affected by factors such as technology used, properties, layer thickness. Horizontal has proven be most efficient producing particularly single-model manufacturing, due its superior savings. However, large-scale overnight massive production favors vertical since platform accommodates twice triple models' numbers horizontal orientation. majority favor accuracy. Choosing optimal additive manufacturing not only ensures precision improving fit restorations prostheses, but also leads significant reductions usage, energy ultimately minimizing environmental impact.
