Polystyrene (PS) is an extremely stable polymer with relatively high molecular weight and a strong hydrophobic character that makes it highly resistant to biodegradation. In this study, PS was subjected biodegradation tests by Tenebrio Molitor (T. Molitor) Zophobas Morio (Z. Morio) larvae. Specifically, six different experimental diets were compared: (i) T. fed bran; (ii) only PS; (iii) treated H2O2; (iv) Z. (v) (vi) H2O2. Therefore, the mass change of larvae survival rate measured periodically, while frass collected after 15 30 days analyzed analyses, such as spectroscopy (FTIR), spectrometry (molecular polydispersity), microscopy (scanning electron observations). The obtained results suggest in case larvae, feeding on bran showed highest ~94 % at days, exhibited eating PS-H2O2. Although not strongly pronounced, Mw Mn both decreased over suggesting Ps Finally, morphological analysis shows samples isolated from completely different, rough irregularly carved surface structures, comparison before

Las no progresaron a pupa, demostraron Factor Conversión Alimento desalentador (3,87) produjeron menor cantidad frass/biofertilizante (1,28g), comparación combinada registró 5,11g. datos sugieren entomoremediación plástica funciona óptimamente si cría combinado elementos orgánicos. Dicha condición solo produce positivos, sino alinea principios economía circular. consecuencia, demuestra ideal para abordarla opción tratamiento residuos EPS.

Amid the rapid development of modern society, widespread use plastic products has led to significant environmental issues, including accumulation non-degradable waste and extensive consumption non-renewable resources. Developing healable, recyclable, bio-based materials from abundant renewable resources using diverse dynamic interactions attracts increasing global attention. However, achieving a good balance between self-healing capacity mechanical performance, such as strength toughness, remains challenging. In our study, we address this challenge by developing new type network epoxidized soybean oil (ESO) poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) with toughness. For synthetic strategy, thiol-epoxy click reaction was conducted functionalize ESO thiol hydroxyl groups. Subsequently, curing isocyanates generated thiourethane urethane bonds different bonding energies in networks reach trade-off features properties; amongst these, lower energy provide features, while higher ensure properties. The incorporation flexible PBAT segments form rational multi-phase structure crystalline domains further enhanced products. A typical sample, OTSO100-PBAT100, exhibited tensile 33.2 MPa an elongation at break 1238%, demonstrating healing desirable performance. This study provides promising solution contemporary challenges that combine repair It addresses specific gap materials, wide range applications.
