1-(naphthalen-2-yl)-2-(1H-pyrazol-1-yl) ethanone (MPPY) was synthesized. The structure characterized by spectral analysis (1H-NMR, FTIR). molar absorptivity of MPPY is high enough, similarly to acetonaphthone derivatives, be used as an efficient type I photoinitiator. influence concentration and the addition co-initiator N-methyldiethanolamine (MDEA) on methyl methacrylate (MMA) polymerization were also investigated. Additionally, showed good antibacterialactivity against Escherichia coli Staphylococcus aureus (diffusion method).

During the last decades, multicomponent photoinitiating systems have been focus of intense research efforts, especially for design visible light systems. Although highly reactive three-component and even four-component designed, complexity to elaborate such mixtures has incited researchers monocomponent Type II photoinitiators. Using this approach, photosensitizer radical/cation generator can be combined within a unique molecule, greatly simplifying elaboration photocurable resins. In field, sulfonium salts are remarkable photoinitiators but these structures lack absorption in range. For a long time, the small group of cationic ligands stood out as obscure systems within general landscape coordinative chemistry. However, this situation has started to change rapidly during last decade, with more and examples metal-coordinated species being reported. The growing interest in these is not only purely academic nature, but also driven by accumulating evidence their high catalytic utility. Overcoming inherently poor coordinating ability often required additional structural stabilization. In numerous cases was realized functionalizing them pair chelating side-arms, effectively constructing pincer-type scaffold. This comprehensive review aims encompass all possessing such pincer architecture reported date. Herein every that ever been embedded framework described terms its electronic structure, followed an in-depth discussion donor/acceptor properties, based on computational studies (DFT) available experimental data (IR, NMR or CV).
