Metal foams are promising materials for the flow fields of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) because excellent mass transport characteristics and high electronic conductivity. To resolve corrosion problem in acidic environment under temperature, nickel/graphene (Ni/G) composite coatings with hierarchical structures were electrodeposited on surface Ni foam. The effect grain size distribution double layer was discussed. It found that Ni/G5-10, larger inner middle outer size, exhibited best performance. Meanwhile, current Tafel plots steady density constant potential analysis lower than obtained gradient currents. Combined results XRD, XPS, SEM, it proven a uniform dense protective film produced during two-step electrodeposition. Moreover, ICR value 8.820 mΩ·cm2, which met requirement 2025 DOE.
