This study focused on synthesizing polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) utilizing glutaraldehyde (GA) as a crosslinking agent and silicon dioxide (SiO2) nanopowder with titanium (TiO2) to reduce or prevent the hydrophilic property of PVA. Integrating SiO2 TiO2 into PVA boosted hydrophobicity, thermal properties, self-cleaning film. The characteristic properties PVA/GA, PVA/SiO2/GA, PVA/SiO2/TiO2/GA nanocomposites polymer membranes were investigated by gel content, swelling capacity, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), gravimetric analysis (TGA), contact angle. resulting PVA/5%SiO2/1%TiO2/GA nanocomposite exhibits much better physical than PVA/GA hydrogel (water absorbency from 3.1 g/g 0.07 angel 0° 125°). In addition, retains very low properties. These prepared are promising in variety applications such sand soil stabilizers, construction, building works where they exhibit excellent water resistance performance. introduces novel approach for creating hydrophobic polymeric materials stabilize sandy effectively.

Abstract This study explores the effect of sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) on graphene dispersion in polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and its impact mechanical, electrical, structural properties PVA/graphene nanocomposites. FTIR confirmed strong interactions between graphene, PVA, SDS. Mechanical testing revealed significant improvements tensile strength flexibility at optimal SDS concentration. Electrical conductivity increased notably with higher levels, highlighting effectiveness SDS-assisted dispersion. offers valuable insights into role shaping developed nanocomposites, which exhibit unique characteristics that make them suitable for flexible electronics applications.
