Food packaging has to preserve food products, not only providing protection against mechanical factors, but also antioxidant and antimicrobial protection. This article describes the effects of PBS film modification with two sea buckthorn extracts (chloroform extract supercritical CO2 extract) at different concentrations (1 or 5 g per 100 polymer). The films were tested determine effect active additive on optical properties, moisture sorption, properties (against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans). improved free radical scavenging significantly (up 41.13 ± 1.31% for PBS-CO2 0.05) reduced number microorganisms studied (more than a 6000-fold reduction E. 1400-fold in S. aureus 1200-fold C. ability block UV radiation was dependent concentration polymer matrix. No significant changes noticed FTIR spectra. obtained appear be potential materials products special protective properties.
