There is evidence of the high use neonicotinoid insecticide thiamethoxam, in tropical crops, for its effectiveness control soil and plant pests. The objective this study was to know residuality concentration thiamethoxam papaya agroecosystem, main fruit producing zone central area Gulf Mexico. It carried out during a growing cycle with watermelon rotation; taking samples according technique established by NOM -AA-103-1988 leaves NMX -FF-041- 1996 method quartering watermelon, were analyzed HPLC-UV, data obtained statistically parametric non-parametric Kruskal- Wallis tests. presence found cultivation plants, concentrations reported maximum value 0.29 mg/kg, while rotation it 0.15 mg/kg. In fruit, are within range 0.24 0.32 mainly exceed tolerance limits EFSA FAO.
