In this study, polyphenols in the crude extract (CE) from red onion peel were recovered by macroporous resin, and their antioxidant anti-inflammatory activities evaluated. Among four resins screened (SP850, XAD2, XAD7HP, XAD16N), XAD7HP showed highest desorption recovery ratios, it was used to optimize polyphenol through single-factor experiments. The optimal conditions established as 1 g pH 4, 25 °C, 7 h for adsorption, followed with 70% ethanol at °C. These achieved 85.00% adsorption ratio, 87.10% 20.9% yield of resin-recovered (MRE) CE. HPLC analysis revealed that rosmarinic acid, quercetin, myricetin major compounds MRE, content these higher (about 7-fold) compared CE, confirming enhanced resin. Moreover, FT-IR ¹H-NMR confirmed successful MRE. Furthermore, MRE displayed significantly improved (DPPH, ABTS, FRAP) (inhibition nitric oxide synthesis reactive oxygen species production) summary, our findings suggest resin can effectively recover enhance biological activities.
