ABSTRACT Mental illness stigma is still a widespread phenomenon with damaging psychological and social consequences. This study of relevance to the design appropriate psychiatric services which reinforce integration individuals living mental illness. It investigates relationship between contact, emotional intelligence (EI) attitudes general population towards people utilized random sampling method collect data from 183 participants. Measures included EI Scale for assessing EI, level contact (LOC) Report examine LOC illness, Attitudes Illness evaluate Each these instruments has been validated in previous research. Data analysis involved Pearson's correlation analysis, multiple linear regression, mediation explore relationships variables. particularly abilities use emotion other's appraisal were associated more positive conversely, lower levels higher care, indicating complicated attitudes. The findings highlight that deeper understanding association them needed, focusing on potential mechanisms might modify this association. Additionally, focal point underlined research important role affecting as it seems offer promising directions planning educational programs reduction interventions.
