Flash flood susceptibility mapping is essential for identifying areas prone to flooding events and aiding decision-makers in formulating effective prevention measures. This study aims evaluate the flash Yarlung Tsangpo River Basin (YTRB) using multiple machine learning (ML) models facilitated by H2O automated ML platform. The best-performing model was used generate a map, its interpretability analyzed Shapley Additive Explanations (SHAP) tree interpretation method. results revealed that top four models, including both single ensemble demonstrated high accuracy tests. map generated eXtreme Randomized Trees (XRT) showed 8.92%, 12.95%, 15.42%, 31.34%, 31.37% of area exhibited very high, moderate, low, low susceptibility, respectively, with approximately 74.9% historical floods occurring classified as moderate susceptibility. Slope failures and landslides cause economic damage deaths worldwide. These losses can be minimized by integrating different methodologies, instruments, data monitoring to predict future landslides. In the constantly growing metropolitan area of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, changes in land cover, use, build-up areas are an issue. The unprecedented urban sprawl pushed city limits from Somes River hilly terrain prone erosion. This study focuses on a landslide-prone where previous slope failure caused significant losses. It combines topo-geodetic measurements, UAV surface displacement, GIS spatial analysis, ground-penetrating radar investigations, geotechnical assessment. Two years show that is undergoing erosion, with soil displacements few centimeters. Geodetic retaining wall’s control points indicates small rotation. Coupled georadar profile imaging showing rock layers uplift trend, it was deduced suffers global instability. findings provide valuable information about dynamics erosion for forecasting movements developing preventative strategies based new methodology affordable prevalent instrumentation techniques.

This study uses the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) model understand intricate interactions that cause in Cluj County, Romania, a region susceptible landslide phenomenon. established analysis depicts patterns from localised hotspots regions relative stability, providing valuable insights into this critical issue.
