The aeolian sand-box backfilling method proves effective for environmentally friendly coal extraction in northwestern regions, including Xinjiang. This study investigated the geomechanical characteristics of backfill material and its control effects on overlying strata through indoor experiments, mechanical analysis, numerical simulations. Uniaxial compression tests models with varying mesh sizes, wire diameters, dimensions revealed that larger sizes diameters increased bearing capacity material, while increasing had opposite effect. A analysis metal box deformation produced equations describing restraining force. Subsequent experiments simulations different consistently demonstrated material’s properties, stress-displacement curves closely aligned. 3DEC5.2 software highlighted effectiveness controlling displacement stress variations goaf areas. Notably, smaller-sized exhibited a more pronounced impact development.

Abstract The Qaidam Basin in the Northeastern Qinghai‐Xizang Plateau, characterized by its numerous salt lakes and fragile ecosystem, is increasingly impacted dust emissions. To evaluate impact of on environment, monthly samples were collected from six monitoring stations between January 2020 March 2023 analyzed for deposition flux (DF), mineral composition, water‐soluble ions, trace elements, carbonaceous content. study used backward trajectory modeling, Pearson correlation, enrichment factor (EF) analysis, positive matrix factorization (PMF) to quantify lake contributions atmospheric dust. Results revealed that halite gypsum content ranged 0 47 wt%, with (SDF) varying 2.54 g/m 2 ·30d. Key soluble ions included non‐playa sulfate (nps‐SO 4 2− ), playa chloride (ps‐Cl − sodium (ps‐Na + ). Trace elements such as iron, aluminum, silicon, titanium originated both natural anthropogenic sources. organic carbon element (OC/EC) ratio PMF model pointed vehicle emissions, coal combustion, biomass burning major pollution sources, particularly urban areas. analysis showed contributed 5.23%–29.76% total mass, aligning changes ion As region a key source river systems, salts pose risks glaciers freshwater resources. These findings highlight substantial inland aerosols arid regions, emphasizing their contribution processes significant should not be overlooked.

The Tarim Basin is located in an arid inland area; the ecological environment fragile, and it extremely sensitive to climate change. For purpose of studying dynamic changes vegetation response extreme climate, this study used Vegetation Ecological Quality Index (EQI) as a indicator calculated 12 indices using Rclimdex. Pearson correlation analysis was explore relationship between EQI values various at both inter-annual intra-annual scales. Additionally, geographic detector employed examine single interactive effects on for different types. following found: (1) During 2000–2022, showed upward trend Basin, increase agricultural fastest. (2) Since 2000, warm temperature have risen, whereas cold declined. warming rate nighttime temperatures exceeds that daytime, precipitation rises intensively. Simultaneously, continuous dry days also increased. (3) On scale, primarily negatively correlated with most indices, while positively indices. there obvious regional concentration diurnal range (DTR) daytimes (TX10P) inhibitory promoting areas high low EQI, respectively. extremum intensity effect inhibiting EQI. interaction has greater impact than index, especially significant forests shrubs. This provides reference early warning meteorological disasters, ecosystem protection, sustainable management Basin.

The long-term atmospheric mixing layer height (MLH) information plays an important role in air quality and weather forecasting. However, it is not sufficient to study the characteristics of MLH using high spatial temporal resolution data desert. In this paper, over southern edge Taklimakan Desert, diurnal, monthly, seasonal variations daytime (retrieved by coherent Doppler wind lidar) surface meteorological elements (provided local station) a two-year period (from July 2021 2023) were statistically analyzed, relationship between two kinds was summarized. It found that diurnal average exhibits unimodal distribution, decrease rate afternoon much higher than increase before noon. From monthly perspective, most frequent deep (>4 km) formed June, highest spring summer. Finally, terms their mutual relationship, observed east-pathway has greater impact on formation west-pathway wind; dust with visibility 1–10 km contributes significantly layer; temperature relative humidity also exhibit clear trend concentrated distribution at about 3 km. statistical analysis deepens understanding pollution area, which great significance for treatment pollution.
