This study aims to present an overview of incorporating the Water Framework Directive into Italian law through Law 152/06. Subsequently, it will focus on a case involving 34 rivers in Salerno Province, utilizing data obtained from ARPA Campania. work analyses macro pollution indicators observed using two aggregated indexes, namely PLM and PLMeco. These indexes were introduced by legislation 1999 2006, respectively. The results show quality river variations over years Province Salerno, non-parametric tests.

Abstract The increasing global demand for high-quality agricultural products poses significant challenges water resource management while the traditional irrigation methods, reliant on open canal systems, are inefficient and environmentally detrimental, necessitating a shift to more efficient pressurized networks. However, designing these systems is complex costly, primarily due high expenses associated with pipe materials. This research introduces novel length splitting (PLS) method which optimizes diameters lengths by allowing strategic of pipes under certain constraints (e.g. flow velocity, head losses etc.) aiming reduce costs without sacrificing network efficiency. In this work proposed PLS combined existing computationally Simplified optimization offers robust solution cost minimization it very flexible compatible also various methods linear dynamic programming). study was Limnochori in North Greece studied as network. Applying conjunction PLS, comparative shows total reduction 21,930€ affected 45% number pipes. These numbers can be considered remarkable considering that characterized small-medium sized (107 hydrants). Ultimately, valuable tool engineers decision-makers, could used other hydraulic works, providing economic benefits through savings supporting broader goals environmental sustainability conservation.
