The study of the expansion potential artificial oases based on remote sensing data is great significance for rational allocation water resources and urban planning in arid areas. Based spatio-temporal relationship between morphogenetic landform types development Xinjiang, this explored pattern past 30 years by using trend analysis centroid migration analysis, constructing a series landform–artificial oasis change indices, investigating suitability different landforms geomorphological location adopting hierarchical clustering method. following conclusions are drawn: (1) From 1990 to 2020, area whole territory continued increase, with significant south from 2005 2010. (2) Six categories were created results. Of these, 7.39% 6.15% area’s belonged first second classes, respectively. (3) optimal scale analyzing over was 8 km, which could explain more than 96% changes growth oases. distribution first- second-class within km buffer zone an year 2020 10.55% 9.90%, respectively, first-class mainly concentrated near plain side agglomerations located northern southern slopes Tianshan Mountains, at edge Altai Mountains. This quantified provided basis site selection future construction.
