Forest carbon stock is an important indicator reflecting a forest ecosystem’s structures and functions. Its spatial distribution valuable for managing natural resources, protecting ecosystems biodiversity, further promoting sustainability, but accurately mapping the in large area challenging task. This study selected Changting County, Fujian Province, as case to explore method map using integration of airborne Lidar, Sentinel-2, ancillary data 2022. The Bayesian hierarchical modeling approach was used estimate local based on Lidar field measurements, then random develop regional estimation model Sentinel-2 data. results indicated that Lidar-based effectively provided sample plots with good representativeness coefficient determination (R2) 0.7 root mean square error (RMSE) 12.94 t/ha. average stocks were 48.55 t/ha, 55.51 57.04 t/ha Masson pine, Chinese fir, broadleaf forests, respectively. non-conservation regions 15.2–16.1 higher than conservation regions. provides promising through use linkage between those subtropical where serious soil erosion has led relatively sparse canopy density. are government make scientific decisions ecosystem restoration due water erosion.

China’s National Key Ecological Function Zones (NKEFZs) currently represent the largest and most extensive ecological conservation policy in China, with one of core objectives this being to improve eco-environmental quality (EEQ). This study regards establishment NKEFZs as a quasi-natural experiment. Based on panel data from 130 counties Sichuan Province 2001 2021, multi-period difference-in-differences (DID) model was employed evaluate impact NKEFZ EEQ. The findings indicate following: ① can significantly enhance EEQ covered areas, albeit gradual long-term process. conclusion not only meets parallel-trends assumption but also holds true series robustness tests such placebo tests. ② Mechanism analysis reveals that through effects optimizing land spatial allocation upgrading industrial structure. ③ Heterogeneity demonstrates beneficial effect varies across different functional zone types, geographic spaces ethnic regions. Our contributes accumulation empirical evidence institutional refinement sustainable implementation policies China offers valuable insights references for other countries formulating protection.

The response of dryland vegetation to climate change is particularly sensitive in the context global change. This paper analyzes characteristics spatial and temporal dynamics cover Tarim River Basin, China, its driving factors order investigate growth water storage changes basin. Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI), GRACE gravity satellite, meteorological data from 2002 2022 are used decipher changes, which great significance realization regional ecological development sustainable development. results study show following: (1) Basin has an overall increasing trend, mainly distributed Aksu Weigangkuche spatially form a ring. (2) distribution greatly improved during 20-year period, dominated by high-cover vegetation, with rate 200.36%. Additionally, centered on watersheds expand surrounding area, clear increase Kumukuri Basin. Areas Hurst index <0.5 account for 63.27% areas continuous decrease were located outer contour area Kumu Kuri Basins. (3) There obvious differences correlation between EVI temperature precipitation elements. proportion positive within 64.67%. tends be consistent direction migration center population GDP, terrestrial reserves northern slopes Kunlun Mountains, about 50.513%. Kumukuli also shows significantly correlation.
