The assessment of running kinematics is essential for injury prevention and rehabilitation, including anterior cruciate ligament sprains. Recent advances in computer vision have enabled the development tools quantifying research clinical settings. This study evaluated accuracy an OpenPifPaf-based markerless method assessing sagittal plane ankle, knee, hip during treadmill using smartphone video footage examined impact clothing on results. Thirty healthy participants ran at 2.5 3.6 m/s under two conditions: (1) wearing minimal with markers to record by both a marker-based system, (2) usual clothes recording only smartphone. Joint angles, averaged over 20 cycles, were analysed SPM1D RMSE. produced kinematic waveforms closely matching results, RMSEs 5.6° (hip), 3.5° (ankle), 2.9° (knee), despite some significant differences identified SPM1D. Clothing had impact, 2.8° all joints. These findings highlight potential as accessible, simple, reliable tool kinematics, even natural attire, applications.

Vertical jump assessment is one of the most frequently used techniques to evaluate lower limb strength and power in context conditioning. Countermovement (CMJ) squat (SJ) have been recognized as valid reliable vertical tests assess body strength. The traditional method requires professional involvement equipment for parameter assessment. In college athletes, it not practical acquire direct supervision from coaches use laboratory-based such force plates. Hence, main objective this study reduce physical by developing a system identify strength, which can be handled at an athlete’s own pace. Thus, we propose single camera that captures athlete skeleton joint variation lateral view accuracy CMJ SJ along with measurements power, maximum height, reactive index, ground reaction force. These performance values are measured using rule-based model developed motion equations variations. biomechanics exercises identified based on clinically accepted protocol. experimental results show identifies 91.7% 95.8% SJ. Also, measures height standard error 0.88 cm.

General movements assessment (GMA) is an internationally recognized evaluation tool for very early screening and diagnosis of neurological prognosis in high-risk infants. The traditional GMA depends on a few certified doctors, which also subjective time-consuming thus limits its wide use, especially the newborn. state-of-the-art methods intelligent action recognition could automatically extract features neonatal general movements. Based quantitative features, classification technology with machine learning makes more objective reliable, making this valuable extensive. This chapter introduces important applications GMA, comments limitations these technologies past decade, shares interdisciplinary views future application to improve health.
