This paper proposes a two-dimensional (2D) generalized equivalent magnetic network (GEMN) model suitable for surface-mounted permanent magnet electric machines (SPEMs). The divides the SPEM into eight types of regions: stator yoke, tooth body, tips, slot openings, air gap, rotor magnets, and yoke. Each region is subdivided radially tangentially multiple 2D units containing radial tangential circuit parameters, forming regular covering all regions SPEM. topology this remains unchanged during rotation can accommodate various structures including Halbach arrays, which enhances generality significantly. proposed be used to calculate flux density distribution, winding electromotive force, electromagnetic torque, iron loss, demagnetization in influence saturation, slotting, current harmonic. Comparative analysis with accurate subdomain method (ASDM) finite element (FEM) demonstrates that GEMN achieves good balance between computational speed accuracy, making it particularly efficient performance evaluation SPEMs.
