Achieving “Zero Hunger” (SDG 2) requires overcoming complex challenges, especially in vulnerable communities developing countries. Livestock plays a key role food security, but limited resources threaten productivity, prompting interest innovative solutions like microalgae supplementation ruminant diets. Microalgae offer potential benefits by enhancing productivity and nutrition while addressing local protein deficiencies. However, barriers such as economic costs, processing requirements, resistance to changing traditional feeding practices present challenges. This review examines the feasibility of microalgae-based livestock feed sustainable strategy improve particularly arid, climate-affected regions. Biomass yield estimates suggest that small-scale cultivation can meet nutritional needs; for example, 22-goat herd would require approximately 88 g per day enrich meat with polyunsaturated fatty acids. Semi-continuous production systems could enable smallholders cultivate adequate biomass, using agricultural efficiently. approach supports improves quality, strengthens community resilience. Collaboration among researchers, extension services, farmers is essential ensure effective adoption systems, contributing future

Recently, microalgae have emerged as a promising feedstock for biorefineries, offering significant potential producing high-value bio-based products in areas such biofuels, nutraceuticals, and environmental management. This study, therefore, undertook an in-depth bibliometric review of 535 articles out 736 publications published between 2010 2024 sourced from the Scopus database. With use VOS-viewer software, this work identified major trends within research terms focus global collaboration networks that pertain to microalgae-based bioproducts. Also, it explored cutting-edge techniques bioproduct extraction processing are both efficient eco-friendly. analysis also showed remarkable growth output, with peaks year 2022, reflecting interest renewable energy methods sustainable production. The main keywords deal subject energy, science, chemical engineering. dominant technologies referred dealing lipid extraction, bio-crude production, nutrient recycling. While addressing cost, scale-up, concerns, there is still need improve like ultrasonic treatment, supercritical fluid enzymatic treatment. Other emerging include genetic engineering integrated biorefinery models, which expected provide roadmap future advancements field. challenges innate meeting through innovation optimization will be key realizing full contribute circular bioeconomy.
