Carbon from biomass as an active material for supercapacitor electrodes has attracted much interest due to its environmental soundness, abundance, and porous nature. In this context, activated carbon prepared coconut shells via a simple activation process (water or steam agents) was used in eco-friendly supercapacitors. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, conductivity, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), N2 sorption thermogravimetry coupled mass spectrometry (TGA-MS) studies revealed that produced by approach exhibit graphitic phase, high surface area, large pore volume. The energy storage properties of correlate with the morphological structural precursor material. particular, made exhibiting largest Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) i.e. 1998 m2 g-1, showed specific capacitance 132.3 F g-1 aqueous electrolyte (1.5 M H2SO4), using expanded graphite sheets current collector substrates. Remarkably, sample configuration ionic liquid (1-methyl-1-propy-pyrrolizinium bis(fluorosulfonyl)mide) (MPPyFSI) polyethylene separator displayed outstanding capability energy-power handling 219.4 92.1 W h kg-1 power density 2046.9 at 1 A maintains ultra-high values 30 indicating ability broad potential related applications. To best our knowledge, these are highest ever reported liquid-based supercapacitors obtained shells.

Despite enormous challenges in accessing sustainable energy supplies and advanced technologies, Ethiopia has one of the world's fastest growing economies. The development renewable technology building a green legacy country are being prioritized. total installed capacity for electricity generation is 4324.3 MW as on October, 2018. Renewable accounts 96.5% generation; however, despite county's biomass potential, only 0.58% power generated using biomass. surplus woody biomass, crop residue animal dung resources which comprise about 141.8 million metric tons availability per year. At present exploited potential 71.9 This review paper provides an in-depth assessment Ethiopia's availability, challenges, prospects. findings show that, vast resource current use modern from still limited. As result, this study supports biomass-based alternative sources without having negative impact socioeconomic system or jeopardizing food security environment. finding also shows opportunities possible solutions to tackle problem expand sources. most effective techniques producing utilizing alternate were explored. Moreover, some perspectives given based efficient production uses it could be implemented other developing countries. We believe that information will shed light future prospects deployment Ethiopia.
