Abstract Upstream watershed management that is not suitable for its carrying capacity causes degradation, shown by the land degradation and landslides in upstream area (on-site), sedimentation, flooding, drought downstream (off-site). One of disaster mitigation efforts implementation soil water conservation watershed, which requires community participation. Generally, participation still passive The research aimed to identify conservation, increase mitigating hydro-meteorological disasters. was conducted Micro Naruan Catchment, Keduang Sub Watershed, Bengawan Solo Watershed. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, Focus Group Discussions. data are perceptions local wisdom related activities from planning evaluation. As efforts, include planting perennial crops controlling surface gully erosion. results show that: 1) people do fully understand linkages between watershed; 2) yet optimal; 3) has conservation. To it recommended techniques patterns applied only reduce risk but also improve community’s economy.
