ABSTRACT The impact of population mobility and transportation choices on the environment is significant. Sustainable policies require an understanding evolving patterns. This study examines global variations across countries using COVID‐19 Community Mobility Reports. Employing k‐medoids algorithm Dynamic Time Warping, we analyzed dynamics. Results reveal diverse changes in mobility. Around 52 Global North exhibit approximately 10% reduction professional activity‐related traffic post‐COVID‐19. Regarding urban green space mobility, only 29 strong seasonality, with summer northern hemisphere peaking at about 150% higher than winter traffic. Three groups are identified concerning public transport mobility: returning to pre‐pandemic levels, experiencing a 25% increase, nearly doubling from levels. underscores key determinants for sustainable policy implementation. Fifteen highly developed share similar patterns six areas studied, facilitating exchange solutions best practices. research importance addressing effective environmental planning.

The underground logistics system is a relatively new concept for container transportation, which designed to reduce the congestion and pollution on road caused by sharply growing number of collections distributions containers in port cities. This paper considers where some vehicles (ULVs) are marshaled used transport between two terminals through deep tunnel. Automated guided (AGVs) horizontal transportation above-ground yard terminals, cranes (YCs) transfer vertically shaft linking To guarantee efficiency this system, joint scheduling problem YCs ULVs proposed formulated as an integer programming model minimize total waiting time ULVs. Taking marshaling into consideration, Genetic Algorithm developed solve problem. Numerical experimental results prove algorithm, different strategies compared. Agri-food supply chains have the potential to make a significant contribution achieving sustainable development goals through ongoing improvements in their configurations. A range of strategic, tactical, and operational level decisions pertaining design operation been studied extant literature. However, investigations into adoption multi-modal transportation as strategic decision context agri-food operating constrained environments are limited. As such, this study, bi-modal for domestic vegetable chain developing country under certain constraints was examined. mixed-integer linear programming model developed determine volume direction product flow achieve minimum total food-miles smallest emissions footprint. case Sri Lankan mainstream used investigate applicability combination truck railway modes transport vegetables from farms retailer locations via economic (consolidation) centers. The structure demonstrated reduce food miles by 32%, costs 36%, contributions global warming 35%, empty hauls 38%, compared with truck-based, uni-modal transportation.
