This research investigates the effects of land use/land cover (LULC) and demographical changes on runoff erosion processes in watersheds border highlands Serbia. It provides an interdisciplinary approach, linking demography (human geography) with physical geography (hydrology geomorphology). (A) A predominant decrease curve number (CN), a key hydrological indicator, is recorded more than 20 Eastern Southeastern Serbia, largely due to continuous depopulation abandonment arable over recent decades. In contrast, minor CN are dominant 10 Western Southwestern (B) Through cluster analysis, four regions spatially delineated by indicators: runoff, soil erosion, agricultural use, rural population. Soil change correlated deagrarianisation at significance p < 0.0001 r = 0.580 0.629, respectively.
