Self-cleaning cementitious materials, particularly with TiO2-based photocatalytic coatings, offer significant benefits by reducing surface deterioration and maintenance requirements, even in harsh urban environments. Despite the growing interest self-cleaning an international standard test method to calculate their efficiency has not yet been established for this specific type of substrate. The objective study was evaluate compare three different techniques assessing (PE) materials coated TiO2: (i) spectrophotometric colorimetry (SPC); (ii) digital image processing-based (DIP); (iii) UV-Vis spectrophotometry (UV-Vis). Rhodamine B (RhB) used as a model pollutant, monitored under light. results showed that each distinct advantages challenges. SPC proved be practical efficient approach, similarly DIP, which also accessible, providing reliable accurate measurements. stood out its precision but required careful application on cement-based substrates due unique porosity adsorption characteristics. These underscore complementary potential these highlight importance developing standardized protocols integrate strengths facilitate wider adoption materials.
