Background: The adoption of information and communication technology (ICT) is transforming supply chains in the European Union, affecting logistical performance, economic integration sustainability. This study examines extent to which ICT affects logistics efficiency 27 EU Member States. Methods: Using panel data from World Bank UNCTAD (2008–2018), analysis applies Arellano–Bond Generalized Method Moments estimator assess impact indicators, broadband penetration, mobile connectivity digital skills on performance. GDP per capita trade openness are included as control variables. Results: results show that a 1% increase usage correlates with 0.12-point Logistics Performance Index. Higher leads more efficient chains, lower costs higher customer satisfaction. However, there still differences digitalization: rate SMEs 28% Bulgaria 27% Romania, compared average 59%. Conclusions: Bridging divide requires targeted investments infrastructure, harmonized regulatory frameworks stronger public–private cooperation foster regional cohesion. provides policy recommendations drive transformation, strengthen resilience improve sustainability EU.

Blockchain technology has emerged as a transformative solution for secure, immutable, and decentralized data management across diverse domains, including economics, healthcare, supply chain management. Given its soaring adoption, it is crucial to assess the suitability of various blockchain platforms specific applications. This study evaluates performance Hyperledger Fabric (HF) private Ethereum (Geth) analyze their scalability (node count), throughput (transactions per second (TPS)), latency (measured in milliseconds). A benchmarking tool was developed in-house execution key smart contract functions—QueryUser, CreateUser, TransferMoney, IssueMoney—under varying transaction loads (10–1000 transactions) network sizes (2–16 node count). The results indicate that HF performs significantly better than terms invoke functions, achieving up 5× 26× lower latency. However, excels query operations because account-based ledger model. While scales efficiently within moderate volumes, experiences concurrency limitations beyond 1000 transactions, whereas processes 10,000 albeit with fluctuations due gas fees. findings offer valuable insights into strengths tradeoffs both platforms, informing optimal selection enterprise applications require high efficiency.
