Research background: Despite the increased interest in business model innovation (BMI) last 20 years, current research landscape still lacks empirical efforts aimed at investigating underexplored link between BMI and performance. This is doubly true specific contexts like Central European countries, whereas systems are weaker than Western ones, firms strongly depend on internal R&D activities absorptive capacity technology upgrades via cooperation with other countries. Purpose of article: study draws theory aim analyzing effects each individual element firms’ performance terms creation radical innovations vs incremental ones. Methods: The data used from Community Innovation Survey (CIS) 2018 — latest micro available to date focusing 16,364 Europe, namely 5,749 Czech, 7,377 Hungarian, 3,238 Slovakian firms. Results Findings indicate that investment integration materials significantly enhance economy. varies across States due regional disparities, inadequate infrastructure, inefficient management. High-emission countries face greater challenges achieving targets, demonstrating need tailored resilient policy measures. Discussion results highlight necessity public policies promote attractiveness sectors, reduce improve management infrastructure. Additionally, emphasizes importance coordinated region-specific accelerate By integrating seasonal analyses, research contributes literature offering nuanced understanding affecting progress. insights valuable supranational developing effective strategies at level.
