University campuses play a crucial role in sustainable development; however, the current green campus evaluation systems tend to focus primarily on physical environment and building technology, often overlooking user perception impact of these factors execution strategies. Starting with an examination connotation evolution campuses, we derived relevant indicators subjective perceptions from both domestic international systems. We collected feedback through satisfaction questionnaires text data nine representative Chinese universities. Factor analysis was used establish correlations between planning across six key areas. This research applied importance–performance (IPA) assess prioritization each indicator, integrating it textual semantic better understand attitudes users toward development. The findings suggest that objectives cannot be fully achieved using only technical or criteria. Instead, combining quantitative forms foundation for effective strategy study also found were more concerned about design details related learning, living, entertainment, recreation than broader decisions made by planners decision-makers. Focusing balancing scientific public participation can help achieve ultimate goal design, adhering human-centered approach.

The quality of campus environments plays an important role in the mental health college students. However, impact nighttime lighting settings has received limited attention. This study examines how different landscape conditions affect emotions and perceived restorative potential, providing a mixed-method research framework to assess landscapes. was conducted on section roadway under three scenarios: daytime (cloudy conditions) two (landscape lights streetlights, streetlights only). We employed wearable biosensors, visitor-employed photography tasks, affective mapping, interviews, self-reports comprehensively participants’ emotional responses perceptions. Statistical analyses, including Friedman test, Wilcoxon signed-rank one-way ANOVA, Getis–Ord Gi* statistic kernel density analysis, were used evaluate differences perceptions across scenarios. results showed that with well-designed enhance potential more compared street alone and, some cases, even surpass settings. Skin conductance data, integrated spatial–temporal trajectories revealed clear patterns responses, emphasizing shaping environmental quality. These findings provide actionable insights for architects designers create landscapes promote well-being restoration.
