Scholars are increasingly prioritising sustainability as the driving force behind their research efforts, and many businesses placing customer at centre of agendas. Hospitality facilities, such hotels, also making concerted efforts to mitigate climate change. The present study proposed a analysis installation photovoltaic (PV) system replacement conventional lighting with light emitting diode (LED) bulbs in hotel, considering economic, environmental social dimensions. results showed that NPV varied between 967–3624 €/kW for PV system, 100% probability achieving positive high market scenario 79–84% same low scenario. Concerning energy efficiency, adoption LED determined range 105–216 €/bulb. These figures were highly dependent on percentage self-consumed purchase price electricity. Environmental analyses indicated could lead an emissions reduction 422 gCO2eq/kWh, translating 61 tCO2eq/year. In addition, underscored significance renewable installations energy-efficiency interventions support ecological transition. However, consumer choices within hotels did not consistently align sustainable models. Notably, green premium 13.2 €/day was recognised using systems, 8.3 those smart lighting. advocate pragmatic model sees investments enhancing hotel's sustainability. shift attitudes is necessary fully realise this potential.

The South African hospitality sector faces significant challenges, including economic instability, climate change, and evolving consumer preferences. To effectively address these issues, hotels must adopt innovative resilience regenerative strategies. This study is based on insights from theory, service-dominant logic (SDL), ecological modernisation theory. find out how challenges are addressed in practice, the authors conducted semi-structured interviews with hotel managers province of Gauteng to collect data for an in-depth thematic analysis. Examples strategies mentioned by interviewees include effective crisis management, income diversification, building robust community partnerships. Asked about practices, respondents listed waste reduction, enhancing biodiversity conservation, investing sustainable infrastructure. These practices correspond Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 9 1, which target development resilient infrastructure poverty eradication. advocate a holistic approach integrates innovation, active engagement, environmental stewardship, fostering meaningfuland enduring advancements within industry.
