The unique features of high-quality agri-food production are rooted in the specificities ecosystems, interpreted through an anthropocentric lens. In Italy, such products nationally certified with labels that enhance both their market value and territorial identity. However, climate change amplifies risks as land degradation reduced arability, threatening systems tied to places, products. As a result, relationship between environmental conditions quality is becoming more fragile across Italian peninsula. This paper investigates how producers consumers perceive posed by ecosystem characteristics Terroir, focusing on Calabria—a southern region marked socio-environmental vulnerability limited number fragility may further hinder production, serious implications for local agribusiness sector. Using qualitative methodology, study draws questionnaires administered farmers, alongside interviews key stakeholders exploratory fieldworks.
