This study analyzes the impact of iNaturalist on recording and documentation fungi in Chile from 2008 to 2024, highlighting its role integrating citizen science into biodiversity monitoring. community effort—which currently totals more than 63,000 observations representing 1,245 species—is concentrated central southern regions country, mainly urban areas, where a small group hyperprolific users generates 44.40% records. Since 2020, an increase number has been observed, which may be linked growing interest mycology. The use allows overcoming traditional logistical limitations, expanding taxonomic, spatial, temporal coverage fungal observations, but these advantages are not without biases. In addition, mycology faces structural challenges, such as funding training new specialists. Collaboration between amateurs professional mycologists is essential validate data extract potential this type tools. approach complements conventional methods studies strengthens conservation policies. Although proven effective tool, effort resources required address knowledge gaps biodiversity. reinforces source valuable potentially useful planetary crisis.

The rapid development of science and technology has made scientific literacy a key focus in education, with concepts considered central to the citizens’ literacy. However, misconceptions hinder improvement students’ Misconception tier diagnostic technologies (MTDTs) provide an effective means for assessing depth understanding concepts. This paper provides systematic review research on MTDTs from 1985 2024. Following PRISMA standards, comprehensive literature search was conducted across multiple databases. screening process is described detail, selection steps are visually presented. A total 28 studies were selected, analyzing history, effectiveness, practical application this various domains. results show that have undergone rigorous reliability validity assessments, demonstrating high quality. Planetary health has emerged as a transdisciplinary field to capture the interdependencies between environmental changes and human health. Nowhere is this more critical than in low- middle-income country (LMIC) settings where majority of world’s population live. These are undergoing rapid urbanisation that could further threaten planetary boundaries. The collaborative societally engaged nature means participatory dynamic methods needed better characterise these exposures. Citizen science potential enable co-production community-relevant evidence but extent which being deployed for LMIC cities not been synthesised. To synthesise on use citizen health-relevant studies urban settings, we conducted scoping review, following Preferred Reporting Items Systematic reviews Meta-Analyses extension Scoping Reviews Joanna Briggs Institute’s stages conducting review.
