Carbon reduction effects of energy transition strategies: a discussion on multi-stakeholder carbon governance

Investigating
the
carbon
reduction
effects
of
New
Energy
cities
Demonstration
Policy
(NECDP)
is
crucial
for
promoting
energy
transition
strategy
and
meeting
“dual
carbon”
targets.
This
study,
grounded
in
stakeholder
theory,
examines
mechanisms
behind
NECDP’s
from
perspectives
both
constraints
incentives.
Using
panel
data
266
at
prefecture
level
above
China,

difference-in-differences

mediation
effect

assess
impact
NECDP
on
emissions.

study’s
results
indicate

emissions,
