This study estimates regional economic resilience in China from 2000 to 2022, focusing on resistance resilience, recovery and reorientation resilience. The entropy method, kernel density estimation, spatial Durbin model are applied examine the spatiotemporal evolution influencing factors. results show significant clustering, with stronger east weaker west. While has generally improved, disparities persist. Key factors such as human capital, urban hospitals, financial development, market consumption, environmental quality have a positive effect spillover effects. However, capital hospitals also negative indirect impact surrounding regions. influence of these varies across regions periods, indicating strong heterogeneity.

Given the intricate and dynamic international political economic landscape, effectively preventing resolving risks challenges while bolstering resilience of development has emerged as a focal point for both academic spheres. Utilizing panel data from Chinese provinces spanning 2013 to 2021, this study employs entropy weight method gauge level digital trade in each region, subsequently exploring impact on regional along with its underlying transmission mechanisms. The findings reveal significant positive effect resilience, which is robustly supported by endogeneity test. Mechanism testing demonstrates that primarily stems upgrading effects industrial structure at production end resource allocation effects, whereas consumption-driven consumption are not deemed significant. Moderation further indicates improvements transportation infrastructure can enhance promotion resilience. Regionally, central regions higher marketization levels exhibit strongest promotional Additionally, there exists spatial spillover stemming development's influence

This study investigates the impact of two consecutive economic shocks—the 2009–2018 crisis and 2019–2022 COVID-19 pandemic—on resilience recovery Greece’s 13 NUTS II-level Administrative Regions. Using secondary data on employment per sector from Greek Statistical Authority Eurostat, is assessed through resistance indices, complemented by shift-share analysis to identify sectoral local influences regional performance. Regions with robust agricultural bases displayed consistent recovery, while tourism-dependent regions transitioned high low during pandemic. Urban centres like Attiki showed enhanced due concentrated activity advantages, forming a high-resistance, fast-recovery cluster. Consequently, advantages are more resilient in times crisis. Sectors developing locally these strengthen resilience, whereas dynamic sectors at national level relying external environments vulnerable, recovering slowly impacting host regions. Strong concentration economies alongside further bolster resilience. Strengthening structures diversifying activities crucial for mitigating disparities. underscores importance tailored sustainable policies enhance ensure long-term sustainability.

Relevance. Similar to other countries, Indonesia's economy was significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, especially at district and city levels. As second-largest contributor GDP, East Java faced noticeable economic downturns. Industry, region's main sector, played a key role in these challenges, making it essential evaluate all sectors from regional perspective navigate this turbulence effectively. Research objective. This study investigates economy's sectoral competitiveness Java, with particular focus on 17 categorized Statistic Indonesia (Badan Pusat Statistik-BPS) before after COVID-19. Data methods. The relies data Badan Statistik (BPS). dataset includes GDP information for 11 regions, namely 7 districts 4 cities, 2018 2022, covering pre- post-pandemic periods. Methodologically, employed Location Quotient (LQ) analysis Mix Share Analysis. LQ used assess concentration comparative advantage of Java's regions. Shift-Share analyses were applied identify competitive industries specific regions their advantages. Results. findings show positive growth most except two regencies that saw decline. emphasizes need strengthen resilience village level using Village Fund national budget. Conclusions. Regional stakeholders, central government interventions, continued development leading are mitigating effects According theory, collaboration between businesses is crucial enhancing increasing number sectors.

National Key Ecological Functional Areas (NKEFAs) play an important role in forestry restoration, water source conservation, soil and windbreak sand fixation, biodiversity maintenance. They are the strategic core of ecosystem protection restoration projects, not only directly related to ecological environment construction, but also profoundly affecting sustainable development capacity regional economy. This article selects 1256 ecologically economically representative counties China with complete data as research objects. Based on selected from 2007 2021, entropy weight TOPSIS method is used construct economic resilience index, a multi-period difference-in-differences (DID) model adopted explore specific impact establishment national key functional areas China’s resilience. With the recent changes in population structure and continuous urbanization, degree of shrinkage mountain cities has increased, especially under impact COVID-19 epidemic, economic development such become a prominent issue. The epidemic not only exposed vulnerability these to but also aggravated negative contraction, bringing about new challenges pressures related regional resilience. This change an important topic study cities. Therefore, taking Guizhou Province as case study, this work applies rate, entropy method, mediation effect model spatiotemporal evolution resilience, it explores how influences results reveal following: (1) Few counties experienced from 2013 2017, indicating sporadic distribution pattern, whereas increased rapidly 2018 2022, revealing east–west symmetrical with Guiyang city located on central axis. (2) There are significant differences spatial level resilience between two periods. Under COVID-19, 2019 although overall most tended decrease. (3) Regarding mediating effect, affected through general public budget expenditure, foreign trade investment, urban employment, GDP. abovementioned findings helpful for providing theoretical support empirical guidance sustainable face challenges, promoting coordination.
