The
growing
global
demand
for
electricity
is
one
of
the
crucial
factors
contributing
to
increase
in
greenhouse
gas
(GHG)
emissions.
Power
transformers,
although
essential
components
transmission
and
distribution
systems,
significantly
impact
environment.
This
paper
employs
a
Life
Cycle
Assessment
(LCA)
evaluate
carbon
footprint
two
oil-immersed
transformers
with
capacity
31.5
MVA
25
MVA,
manufactured
Poland
2023,
an
assumed
lifetime
40
years.
analysis
follows
cradle-to-use
approach
considers
various
scenarios,
including
differences
average
operating
load
levels,
generation
from
different
sources,
time
frame
spanning
2024–2063.
After
2–3
years
transformer
operation,
even
at
low
loads,
CO2
equivalent
(CO2-eq)
emissions
associated
energy
losses
exceed
those
generated
during
production.
These
results
underscore
critical
importance
utilizing
advanced
construction
materials
design
solutions.
Moreover,
this
highlights
need
implement
systemic
actions
aimed
restructuring
generation,
especially
regions
that
heavily
dependent
on
fossil
fuels.
