Transporting precast modules via water is a vital component of multimodal transportation systems, increasingly utilized in large-scale Modular integrated Construction (MiC) projects where are prefabricated remote factories. The effectiveness module planning significantly impacts the overall costs and productivity MiC projects. However, existing studies on neglect uncertainty inherent projects, thereby resulting increased costs. This study proposes two-stage stochastic programming model to optimize through water, addressing this uncertainty. A real Hong Kong case with 418 employed assess proposed comparison three deterministic models. optimal plan solved by HKD 148,951, comprising 21% from temporary rentals 79% advance bookings. results show that models, without considering demand, will incur additional 25% higher average than developed model. Additionally, paper conducts sensitivity analysis price ratio pre-booked barges on-demand evaluate its impact total can effectively help transport planners reduce associated transportation.
