This study presents the development and application of a mathematical optimization model to improve decision-making in supply chain for high-energy-density pellet (HEDP) production commercialization. Focused on Metropolitan Region Chile, research involved detailed analysis key components, including identifying landfills controlled dumps, waste volume assessments, plant location analysis, technology evaluation, market potential exploration. The revealed that available raw material region was sufficient meet 100% HEDP demand, with surplus 2,161,952 tons remaining after satisfying maximum demand. An locations identified Santa Marta as optimal choice, resulting annual cost savings USD 100,000 compared other sites. work underscores role enhancing efficiency biomass-based energy products, offering valuable insights strategic similar contexts.
