Based
on
panel
data
from
30
Chinese
provinces
2012
to
2022,
this
study
empirically
examines
the
impact
of
new-quality
productivity
environmental
pollution
and
explores
underlying
mechanisms.
A
multidimensional
index
system
is
constructed
measure
productivity,
incorporating
new
laborers,
labor
materials,
objects,
technologies,
production
organizations,
elements.
The
results
indicate
that
development
significantly
reduces
levels,
a
conclusion
remains
robust
after
series
robustness
endogeneity
tests.
Mechanism
analysis
reveals
green
finance
plays
partial
mediating
role
in
pollution-reducing
effect
with
accounting
for
11.7%.
Regional
heterogeneity
shows
improvement

eastern
northeastern
regions
but
relatively
weaker
central
western
regions.

findings,

three-pronged

In
this
study,
we
aim
to
construct
an
evaluation
system
accurately
measure
the
development
status
and
trends
of
China’s
new
quality
productivity,
which
is
pivotal
for
sustainable
Chinese
economy.

standardized
index

measurement
methods,

three
dimensions—scientific
technological
innovation,
industrial
upgrading,
factor
transformation—in
alignment
with
essence
traits
productivity.
By
combination
entropy
method
multi-period
weights,
assess
level
productivity
across
31
provinces
from
2013
2022.
The
findings
reveal
following:

Substantial
regional
disproportions
exist
among
in
advancement
Shanghai
Beijing
demonstrating
notable
first-mover
advantage.

While
levels
most
are
generally
modest,
overall
positive
trajectory
observed.
Drawing
upon
these
outcomes,
set
targeted
strategies
put
forward,
such
as
leading
scientific
promoting
realizing
transformation
elements.
This
article
can
enhance
our
understanding
spatiotemporal
pattern
offering
novel
theoretical
framework
practical
approach
fostering
tailored
unique
circumstances.
Consequently,
it
may
facilitate
promotion
economic
sustainability.
