The maritime industry faces growing pressure to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adopt sustainable practices. Ports, as critical logistics hubs, can drive this transition. This review aims assess biomass gasification a strategic tool for port management, highlighting its role in reducing fossil fuel dependency promoting circular economy principles. Using thematic approach, recent advancements technology are analyzed alongside environmental, economic, social impacts. However, key barriers, such feedstock variability, high capital costs, fragmented policies, hinder widespread adoption. Proposed solutions emphasize policy integration, stakeholder collaboration, hybrid energy approaches. Case studies demonstrate successful implementations, reinforcing gasification’s achieving greener, more resilient operations. These insights provide foundation policymakers stakeholders.
