This study proposes a probabilistic quantification technique that applies an expert inference method to warn of the risk fire developing into thermal runaway when lithium-ion battery occurs. Existing methods have shortcomings low prediction accuracy and delayed responses because they determine only by detecting temperature rise smoke in initiate extinguishing activities. To overcome such shortcomings, this probabilistically calculate advance amount off-gases generated venting stage before begins. has advantage quantifying probability applying based on combination off-gas amounts, while maintaining high reliability even sensor fails. verify validity design, problems with increase/decrease data were derived under four SOC conditions actual batteries. Through foregoing, it was confirmed can be accurately presented situations where detection malfunctions complexly. Additionally, proposed is lead quicker fires.
