Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) as a disruptive technology is not new. However, its recent evolution, engineered by technological transformation, big data analytics, and quantum computing, produces conversational generative AI (CGAI/GenAI) human‐like chatbots that disrupt conventional operations methods in different fields. This study investigates the scientific landscape of CGAI human–chatbot interaction/collaboration evaluates use cases, benefits, challenges, policy implications for multidisciplinary education allied industry operations. The publications trend showed just 4% ( n = 75) occurred during 2006–2018, while 2019–2023 experienced astronomical growth 1763 or 96%). prominent cases (e.g., ChatGPT) teaching, learning, research activities computer science (multidisciplinary AI; 32%), medical/healthcare (17%), engineering (7%), business fields (6%). intellectual structure shows strong collaboration among eminent sources business, information systems, other areas. thematic highlights including improved user experience human–computer interaction, programs/code generation, systems creation. Widespread usefulness teachers, researchers, learners includes syllabi/course content testing aids, academic writing. concerns about abuse misuse (plagiarism, integrity, privacy violations) issues misinformation, danger self‐diagnoses, patient applications are prominent. Formulating strategies policies to address potential challenges teaching/learning practice priorities. Developing discipline‐based automatic detection GenAI contents check proposed. In operational/operations areas, proper CGAI/GenAI integration with modeling decision support requires further studies.

This pioneering study evaluates the digital divide and advances in virtual education (VE) e-learning research Global South Countries (GSCs). Using metadata from bibliographic World Bank data on development (R&D), we conduct quantitative bibliometric performance analyses evaluate connection between R&D expenditures VE/e-learning GSCs. The results show that ‘East Asia Pacific’ (EAP) spent significantly more (R&D) achieved highest scientific literature publication (SLP), with significant impacts. Other GSCs’ expenditure was flat until 2020 (during COVID-19), when funding increased, achieving a corresponding 42% rise SLPs. About 67% of ‘Arab States’ (AS) SLPs 60% citation impact came produced global north other GSCs regions, indicating high dependence. Also, 51% high-impact were ‘Multiple Country Publications’, mainly non-GSC institutions, collaboration impact. EAP, AS, ‘South Asia’ (SA) regions experienced lower disparity. In contrast, less developed countries (LDCs), including ‘Sub-Sahara Africa’, ‘Latin America Caribbean’, ‘Europe (Eastern) Central Asia’, showed few dominant higher divides. We advocate for increased educational to enhance innovative GSCs, especially LDCs.

Digital twins (DTs) are an emerging capability in additive manufacturing (AM), set to revolutionize design optimization, inspection, situ monitoring, and root cause analysis. AM DTs typically incorporate multimodal data streams, ranging from machine toolpaths in-process imaging X-ray CT scans performance metrics. Despite the evolution of DT platforms, challenges remain effectively inspecting them for actionable insights, either individually or a multidisciplinary, geographically distributed team setting. Quality assurance, departments, pilot labs, plant operations must collaborate closely reliably produce parts at scale. This is particularly crucial where complex structures require collaborative multidisciplinary approach. Additionally, large-scale originating different modalities their inherent 3D nature pose significant hurdles traditional 2D desktop-based inspection methods. To address these increase value proposition DTs, we introduce novel virtual reality (VR) framework facilitate real-time AM. includes advanced features intuitive alignment visualization data, visual occlusion management, streaming volumetric tools, substantially improving components processes fully exploit potential

This study proposes big data-based in terms four proposed features, namely versatility, significance, commerciality, and disruptiveness, given features are quantitively using representative keywords volumes returned search results from Google Scholar two-dimensional analytical spaces technique application. We demonstrate applicability this 452 domain intelligent robotics. our assessment indicate that versatility values normally distributed, while disruptiveness follow power-law distributions, which few possess higher values. also show significant more likely commercialized causing potential disruption, as such have scores these features. Further, we validly prove robustness approach via comparing historical trends with literature characterizing reduced spaces. Our widely applied analyzing different domains, it potentially exploited decisions investment, trade, science policy.
