ABSTRACT The rapid growth of populations and urbanization has led to a significant increase in healthcare waste, posing serious health risks. A search on Google Scholar identified seven relevant articles from Ethiopia that examine the relationship between improper waste management facilities (HCFs) rise antimicrobial resistance (AMR) genes. This review aims highlight key concepts, evidence sources, knowledge gaps specific Ethiopian context. unsafe disposal antibiotics through leaks solid contributed what some are calling ‘silent pandemic,’ raising concerns about emerging infectious diseases. Studies have revealed alarming rates agents AMR wastewater. Isolates C. jejuni, Escherichia coli, Enterococcus faecalis, faecium various sites demonstrate high levels Additionally, research indicates HCFs produce amounts with per-person daily production rates. Leachate landfills containing this can negatively affect soil health, biological activity, water quality, agriculture, animal human well-being. To mitigate these risks, effective practices promotion alternative use essential strategies for reducing emergence pandemic diseases developing countries.
