Maize (Zea mays L.), a food crop cultivated worldwide, is renowned for its nutritional and economic value. However, quality can be significantly affected by various storage conditions, leading to changes in composition potential contamination with harmful substances, such as aflatoxins. This article presents comprehensive evaluation of the impact on maize quality, focusing several key parameters analyzed using liquid chromatographic methods FT-NIR spectrometry. The research reveals decline concentrations nutrients over period. Specifically, there was 19.7% loss vitamin B1, 12.43% B3, 16.96% α-tocopherol, 13.61% total tocopherols, an 8.02% β-carotene. Aflatoxins were mostly undetectable, one exception January that remained below maximum permitted level 0.3 µg/kg. include concentration vitamins β-carotene, aflatoxin aflatoxins, carbohydrate content, protein content. January—0.3 µg/kg—that level. study underscores importance cooling immediately after drying minimize nutrient loss, providing valuable insights optimizing processes maintain maize.

Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is commonly found in feed ingredients and foods all over the world, posing a significant threat to food safety public health animals humans. Lactobacillus salivarius (L. salivarius) was recorded improve intestinal performance of chickens. However, whether L. can alleviate AFB1-induced hepatotoxicity geese unknown. A total 300 Lande were randomly assigned five groups: control group, AFB1 low-dose group (L), salivarius+AFB1 (LL), high dosage groups (H), (LH), respectively. The results showed that concentrations ALT, AST, GGT significantly increased after exposure AFB1. Similarly, severe damage hepatic morphology observed including structure injury inflammatory cell infiltration. oxidative stress evidenced by elevated MDA, decreased activities GSH-Px, GSH SOD. observation immunofluorescence, real-time PCR, western blotting expression PINK1 value LC3II/LC3I increased, but p62 exposure. Moreover, supplementation effectively improved performance, ameliorated stress, inhibited mitochondrial mitophagy enhanced liver restoration normal level. present study demonstrated decreasing regulating PINK1/Parkin-mediated mitochondria liver. Furthermore, this investigation suggested might serve as novel safe additive for preventing contamination poultry feed.

The objective of the study was to assess comparative effects Vernonia amygdalina leaf meal (VALM) and zinc (Zn) on serum proinflammatory anti-inflammatory cytokines as well DNA damage cocks-fed aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) contaminated diets. A total 250 sexually mature Isa White cocks 24 weeks old were randomly distributed into five groups (treatments) with each containing 50 birds, which replicated times 10 birds per replicate. Cocks in group fed basal diet only, B 1 mg AFB1/kg diet, C received (basal + mg/kg AFB1) Zn, D 2.5 g/kg VALM, E 5.0 respectively. Feed water supplied ad libitum fresh feed added troughs at 6:00 a.m. p.m., While tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin beta (IL-1β), 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG), nuclear factor kappa (NF-κB) significantly (P < 0.05) elevated among B, significant reductions recorded diets C, D, E. Conversely, had depression 4 (IL-4) (IL-10) while improvements E, Therefore, inclusion VALM offset adverse physiological AFB1 observed birds. comparable results presented by cocksfed Zn.
